1 day to go until Storm play at new home

Tomorrow Surrey Storm play at their multi-million pound new home Surrey Sports Park and the squad have been getting used to their new surroundings yesterday getting a full induction around the park.

Storm also celebrated Rachel Dunn’s record landmark of 600 goals with a surprise cake and speech delivered by Franchise Director Jason Harborow.

“It’s an exciting week for us” stated Rachel. “The facilities here are world class and it was nice to have a walk about and get to know our new home”. She added; “Everything from the playing surface to the hospitality areas and the gym are just top class and match days will certainly be special for us from now on”.

Tomorrow’s fans will be greeted by a gigantic image of the Storm girls as they arrive, the squad have a huge presence around the building which will continue to grow, Jason Harborow added; “It’s important that Surrey Sports Park is a fortress for us and that the players feel like they are home as soon as they step through the door”. We will promote all our Storm athletes across all sports and having inspirational images around the building not only re-enforces our brand but inspires our visitors to come along and watch our stars in action”.

Storm take on a much improved Glasgow Wildcats side tomorrow who are coached by Denise Holland, who two seasons ago was coaching the London and South East Superleague team. They will be hoping that their captain and shooter Lesley MacDonald is back to full fitness, meanwhile Hannah Reid returns to action for Storm this week and Head Coach Mary Beardwood has a squad of players itching to get court time and perform to secure positions for those playoffs finals.
