ABOUT TAMSIN GREENWAY
England attacker Tamsin signed for Surrey Storm in October from Team Bath where she had played Netball for 8 years. The lure of Surrey Storm’s new vision, along with a great athlete package were enough to convince Tamsin to get Stormed up and when she signed she stated; “I was excited by the challenge at Storm and the offer they presented me and am now looking forward to future successes with Surrey Storm”.
That success came pretty soon with win after win and it wasn’t long before Tamsin become a firm fans' favourite. She is often surrounded at the end of a game by a large group of fans asking for autographs and pictures. Tamsin is not only a dedicated England and Storm athlete she is also becoming one the hottest players to photograph around as you can see from the giant pictures around the Sports park.
Tamsin is a classy player, naturally gifted. On the court “T” is extremely fast with a huge array of passing skills. She has tremendous vision and tactical awareness and is often singled out as a threat by Storm’s opponents. This season she has consistently fed shooter Rachel Dunn beautifully and defenders rarely beat her off the line for a centre pass. She started the season as vice captain and following the departure of Sonia Mkoloma to the ANZ was made Storm Captain. Tamsin is a real team player, as well as a fantastic leader and has a huge influence on the team. When she’s not playing, she’s coaching, analysing and preparing. She really does live, breathe and eat Surrey Storm! Off the court Tamsin is warm, friendly and an inspiration to young netballers, she is a real netball icon and Surrey Storm is very proud that Storm fans voted Tamsin “Fans' player of the Season”.
ABOUT BECKY NASH
Every team needs a Becky Nash. Becky has to be one of the most dedicated and professional players at the club. She always gives 100% and sometimes adds another 100 in for good measure! Becky has been part of the London and South East Franchise for many years and played for former side Brunel Hurricanes.
One of the first names on the team sheet, Becky is a massive player for Storm. On the court she is hungry, feisty, determined and always turns over ball at vital moments. At times Becky appears to be everywhere on court, never giving her opponent a minute's rest! This year she has displayed all those trademark Becky Nash qualities but has also improved aspects of her play. Her timing on and off the ball is superb and her attacking support play alongside the likes of Natasha Hampshire, Michelle Hall and Tamsin Greenway has been vital. Watch her for 5 minutes of a game off the ball and you will see the unsung work that Becky puts in.
Off the court her role is just as pivotal. She’s always smiling, a real joker and always keeps spirits high. Every training session she commits every ounce of effort and is an example to all young budding netballers. Everyone likes Becky and Storm could not be more proud that Becky chose to play for us. She thoroughly deserves the accolade of “Franchise player of the year” which was voted by all the staff and players at Surrey Storm.
