Storm Talent lie 6th in the table whilst their opposition sit 9th. A win tonight in the only remaining game in NTL to be played could see Storm finish the season 5th.

FROM 1 ENGLAND PLAYER TO 6!

Storm Talent may not have had the successes in the league compared to last year’s title winning side but there is no doubt that Anita Hollman’s new look set of youngsters have the talent to go a long away. Last year just one youngster from the London and South East Franchise made an England squad but following National Screening in Sheffield on April 6th, Surrey Storm are proud to announce that five players from the Surrey Storm Talent squad have been selected for England squads, whilst current England Under 19 athlete Kadeen Corbin continues her rehabilitation from injury.

MULLOY & DESMOND

Defenders Rachel Mulloy and Fran Desmond who have competed for the England Under 17 squad this year were selected for the England Under 19 squad. Desmond is now one of the youngest players in the Under 19’s.

Mulloy and Desmond will also be touring with the Under 19 squad to Australia in July.

FAWSITT, DAVIS & SIMMONDS

Meanwhile mid courter Ellie Fawsitt keeps her place in the England Under 17 squad and Bobbi Simmonds, sister of Talent Captain Antonia has also been selected.

Amanda Davis has also been selected in to the England Under 17 squad, a remarkable achievement considering at the beginning of the year she failed to make the Storm Talent Squad. Head Coach Anita Hollman has been particularly impressed with her journey; “When she didn’t make the squad we gave her some things to go away and work on and she has worked her socks off at region and at club” she stated. “She’s gone from the regional development programme, to an excel programme and then mid season she was selected for Storm Talent after huge improvements. I think that just goes to show that the system works and also proves that there are always opportunities to try again, she didn’t give up and has been rewarded”. Davis was also selected to represent England in the GB squad at the Netball Europe festival in Malta in June.
