Storm v Yorkshire Jets Preview
SNOW WARNING – PLEASE READ
Saturday’s match is currently still due to go ahead and is expected to do so despite recent snowfall in parts of England. The home match venue Surrey Sports Park is fully operational with the exception of outdoor pitches.
However Yorkshire Jets do have to travel down to Surrey for the game on Saturday and further snow may mean they encounter problems. This is not anticipated at this stage, but if there is further snowfall please be sure to check online before you head to the match.
If for any reason Saturday’s game has to be cancelled due to snow, announcements will be made via www.surreystormnetball.co.uk, www.surreysportspark.co.uk, Surrey Storm and Surrey Sports Park facebook and twitter pages, and via the Surrey Storm Report emails.

Form Guide
Storm go into Saturday night’s game on a three game winning-streak, after seeing off Team Bath 65-52 in Bath. Surrey now sit second in the Superleague behind Northern Thunder on goal difference, although Storm lead the scoring charts with 193 goals so far.
Yorkshire Jets travel down to Surrey after picking up their first win on Monday with a narrow 46-42 win over Team Northumbria. Jets are currently lying in sixth in the Superleague after two tough defeats to Northern Thunder and Hertfordshire Mavericks, and will be looking to pick up more points in the chase for a top four spot.
Head to Head
As the newest franchise in the Fiat Netball Superleague, Storm have yet to meet the Yorkshire Jets in Superleague action.
Outside of the regular netball season, Storm and Jets did meet in the pre-season Cathedral City Lighter Fast Net Grand Prix Finals, after Storm qualified as winners from the Surrey Conference and Jets runners-up in the Manchester Conference.
In the qualifying play-off before the final, Jets managed to pull-off a surprise win over Storm 30-28 after a solid performance including some fantastic 3 pointers. Saturday sees the action return to 15 minute quarters with no powerplays and 3 pointers, and Storm will be looking for a more convincing all-round performance.
Ins and Outs
Storm name an unchanged squad from last week’s trip to Bath, with coach Tamsin Greenway still looking to get Rhianne McHale on court for the first time since her return last week.
Coached by Anna Carter , Yorkshire Jets will be looking to continue from where they left off on Monday and emulate their impressive performances last time out at Surrey Sports Park.
Player-coach Tamsin Greenway is looking for her Storm side to continue to start brightly and continue throughout the 60 minutes . She said, “We’re all really looking forward to facing the Jets this weekend. People have hinted at revenge over our Fast Net defeat, but although we were disappointed on the day, this is a completely different game and we’re all focused on a solid performance.
“We have started the season so well and we want to continue that run on Saturday. Of course it will be nice to see where we are at against Jets over the full course, and I’ll be looking for longer periods of concentration from the team.
“After a strong start at Bath and at home to Lightning, we dropped off, so I really want us to go at it for the full duration of the game and see the end result. We’ve got a lot of experience in the team and although it has already helped us achieve some fantastic wins, it’s time to be even smarter and raise our game again.”
The match at Surrey Sports Park is a sell-out with no tickets available on the door. However, some returned tickets may become available, so check the online box office if you are still looking for tickets.
