Storm to train alongside Quins
Storm’s players have also received the news that they will be training alongside Premiership Rugby Union side Harlequins who start training at the multi-million Sports Park from June this year.
Harlequins were welcomed to the Sports Park this week and England international and Harlequins winger, Ugo Monye could not hide his excitement over his team’s new training facilities. He said, “It’s amazing! It’s the first time I’ve been down here and I’ve just had a quick session and the facilities are top notch. The new facilities give us an adrenalin boost which is exactly what we need. It’s something to look forward to, and it’s definitely a massive step up from where we’ve come from and everything’s really exciting. We’re looking forward to working really hard here.”
Storm’s netball athletes will also be training alongside top British Basketball Side Guildford Heat. Storm Captain Tamsin Greenway stated; “Its amazing Quins will be training here. To have all these amazing athletes training alongside us is brilliant and I am sure more will follow to Surrey Sports Park as the facilities are just world class”. Tamsin has been spending plenty of time getting to know Storm’s new home over recent weeks, she added; “I can’t wait until our first match here and I think our fans will be blown away as we are by the Sports Park”.
Storm travel to Wales today to take on Celtic Dragons with an aim of not only the win but further improving their goal difference. Storm top the table ahead of Team Bath with a goal difference of 74 separating the two teams and Storm will want to keep it that way as the countdown to the playoff finals begin to ensure home advantage.
