Surrey Storm win Community award

Surrey Storm were awarded a prestigious trophy on Saturday at the Co-operative Netball Superleague Grand Final reception.

Storm were awarded Community Franchise of the year for their contribution to netball in the community as well as connecting with fans in the London and South East Region.

Over 6000 people have watched Surrey Storm play this year. Storm also launched the Surrey Storm Roadshow which has seen the likes of Captain Tamsin Greenway visit over 30 schools, colleges and clubs. Part of Storm’s objectives when the Franchise was launched was to connect with the region’s netballers and ensure Storm is very much the heartbeat of netball for the region and Franchise Director Jason Harborow was thrilled that Storm collected the award. He stated; “I am delighted that Storm have won this award. Our vision was to create a club that penetrated the community and had a positive impact on London and South East Netball. To win such a prestigious award in our first year shows we have been true to our vision”.
