Surrey Storm re-sign Niamh Cooper for 2021 Superleague campaign!

Surrey Storm are delighted to announce Niamh Cooper has re-signed for the 2021 Superleague campaign!

The Northern Ireland international quickly became a figurehead in Mikki Austin’s side before the 2020 season was brought to a halt.

The 28-year-old has won 52 caps for her country, including making four starts at last summer’s Netball World Cup.

She now re-joins Mikki Austin, Yasmin Parsons and Emily Gulvin in duck egg blue for another season!

Cooper said: “I am really excited to have re-signed with Surrey Storm for the 2021 season!

“I loved every minute playing on court for Storm last year, so when Mikki asked if I would re-sign it really was a no brainer!

“There is some really exciting new talent coming into the group this year following the retirement of some of our experienced players last season, and I can’t wait to see what we can achieve going forward into 2021.

“Our ambition has always been to push for a Top 4 finish this year – we showed glimpses of what we can achieve last year and I can’t wait to get back to work and prove that’s where we should be.”

Mikki Austin added: “Niamh is a fantastic athlete and such a workhorse, which is critical in that Wing Defence position.

“She had a real impact in her first season with Surrey Storm so we are thrilled to be extending her contract here for the next international cycle.”
