Austin named Kia Dover Garage (Ash) Ltd Fans’ Player of the Season

Congratulations to Mikki Austin who was named Kia Dover Garage (Ash) Ltd Fans’ Player of the Season at Sunday’s End of Season Festival.

Nearly 200 of you voted for Mikki as your Player of the Season after making a huge impact in the early rounds of the 2015 season.

Her most memorable performance would come at the Copper Box Arena in round 7, when she made a substitute appearance to turn the game around and hand Storm what would be their first win of two in the capital this season.

An unfortunate injury picked up in training forced Mikki to sit out for a number of rounds late on in the season, but still winning this award is testament to her presence in the squad even when not in the playing squad.

Mikki was also ever present at our junior camps and roadshows, lending her enthusiasm for the sport to encourage a new generation of players to get on court.

Picking up the award in her debut season for Storm, Mikki was delighted to be voted Fans' Player of the Season: "I cannot thank the fans enough for this. It's a real honour.

"I can't wait to get back on court next season and hopefully show everyone just how much I love playing for Storm and in front of the best crowd in the Superleague!"

Mikki narrowly pipped Pamela Cookey (13%) to the title, with player-coach Tamsin Greenway (11%) taking 3rd place.
