Summer Masterclass Camp Info
1. How to Create Space on Court
This session will lead players through a range of strategies to create space for themselves and their team on the netball court, improving the flow of the ball through court and into the shooting circle. It is suitable for all positions and will encompass some unit-specific considerations.
2. Applying Magnetic Force in Defence
Encouraging your opponents high and wide up the court and creating opportunities for intercepts are some of the tools this session will address with unit-specific applications for all positions on court after all, who doesn’t love a GS or GA who can turnover ball too?
3. The Netball Timing Formula Applied
A much-used term in a netball coach’s vocabulary: timing. Be it the ‘timing of ball release’ or ‘timing of the drive’ or ‘what time is lunch?’, our coaching team will work with players to refine their skills by helping them recognise and read signals on court and thereby improve their decision-making. It is suitable for all positions and will encompass some unit-specific considerations.
4. P = F/A: Generating Through Court Pressure
Players will explore how they can generate individual, unit and team pressure on their opposition using a range of defensive strategies. Relentlessness is the theme of this session that is suitable for all positions and will encompass some unit-specific considerations.
5. Orbital motion in action in attack
A jam-packed session looking at game play scenarios when in possession of the ball, bringing ball down court, feeding the circle, entry into and movement around the shooting circle. There will be some positional and unit work included in this session and remains suitable for all players wanting to widen their netball knowledge.
6. Orbital motion in action in defence
This session effectively looks to complement (or counteract!) the great work of the previous session, reading how the attacking team are working and confusing the space. There will be some positional and unit work included in this session and remains suitable for all players wanting to widen their netball knowledge.
7. The nuances of speed, velocity and acceleration
Varying the type and speed of movement can be a under-utilised skill in the heat of the game, so this session will encourage players to explore their on court movement and widen their selection of tools in their netball toolbox. This session is suitable for all positions and will encompass some unit-specific considerations.
8. Resistant materials: how to manage on court pressure
Players in training can be different to players in match situations as they react to the impact of physiological and physical pressure. In this session, players will work through a variety of netball-related scenarios simulating this pressure and help build resilience. This will be especially useful for players with trials on the horizon. Suitable for all positions.
