Francesca Williams, Olivia Leach and Rhea Dixon all feature in Storm’s 2016 Netball Performance League (NPL) squad which was selected earlier this month by a new look coaching line-up.
The England U21 stars, who were part of their Netball Europe winning side, form part of a young squad full of talent, including Sophie Drakeford-Lewis who joins from Team South and is part of the National Academy and Raz Quashie and Emily Gulvin who were part of the Storm Next Generation team.
Leah Goss, Phoebe Cadogan and Ally Housley have all signed after featuring in the London and South East Regional Performance Academy.
This season will also see a new coaching setup for the NPL side, former U16 Hampshire County Academy coach Jane Jewell taking over alongside ex-Storm Superleague assistant coach Tallisa Haynes.
Jewell has extensive coaching experience at various levels of the sport, coaching Weston Park Blades’ regional team for a season as well as the Hampshire Academy, and is also the founder of Shooting Stars Netball Club- a silver CAPS club with teams ranging from U11 to adults.
Her dedication to coaching netball was rewarded in 2009 when she received a nomination for The Sunday Times Sports Woman of the Year award.
Having secured her first Superleague trophy as a coach this year, Haynes will join Jewell on the bench to lead a talented NPL squad to glory when they kick off their season in January.
Fixtures for the upcoming season will be announced soon, including when you can catch the future Superleague stars in action at Surrey Sports Park. Full player profiles and headshots will also be online soon.
