Surrey Storm were defeated 62-57 by Manchester Thunder in the Vitality Netball Superleague.
Storm scored 4 goals without reply late on but it was too late and Thunder held on for the victory.
It was a frantic start to the game with both sides exchanging goals and Storm took a 17-14 lead into the first break.
Thunder took control in the second quarter with Malawi international Joyce Mvula consistently converting for Karen Greig’s side.
The first-half ended with Thunder leading 33-31, before a damaging 16-12 Q3 left Storm with it all to do in the final period.
Strong performances from Katie Harris and Sigi Burger weren’t quite enough however, and Thunder managed to grind out the win.
Next up for Storm is a trip to Sirens, on Saturday 28th April, with a 7:45pm centre-pass.
