Surrey Storm were defeated 42-51 by Severn Stars in the Vitality Netball Superleague.
It was Tania Hoffman’s side who started the brightest, as Katie Harris and Sigi Burger combined to give Storm a 6-1 lead early in the first quarter.
Severn Stars fought back as Laura Malcolm helped her side fight back, taking a 10-11 lead at the end of the first quarter.
Strong performances from Lorraine Kowalewska and Jo Trip in defence could not stop Stars from dominating in the second quarter, as Stars took a 18-27 lead into half-time.
Tactical changes came in the second-half, with Georgia Lees coming on for Tallisa Haynes at wing-attack and Yasmin Parsons moved to centre.
The changes enhanced the Storm side, but they could not catch Sam Bird’s side, and the Stars took their second-win of the weekend against Storm.
