GULVIN SET FOR SECOND SEASON

Surrey Storm is delighted to announce the re-signing of Emily Gulvin for the 2019 Vitality Netball Superleague season.

The 21-year-old mid-courter made her Superleague debut in the opening match of the 2018 season and spoke of her excitement at re-signing.

“It feels amazing to have signed again with Storm, having been with the franchise for five years developing up from the under-19 team it’s a great achievement!” said Gulvin.

“I’m particularly looking forward to being coached by Mikki [Austin], she has always been very supportive of me so I’m excited to learn more from her.”

Having made her way through the NPL programme, and also a student at the University of Surrey, Gulvin has a strong connection to the franchise.

“I have received a lot of support and encouragement from the coaches, players and fans in my time here.

“I feel very passionate about playing for Storm.”

Hoping to build on her debut season, Gulvin is wanting to improve more and more:

“Making my Storm debut was both nerve-wracking and exciting, particularly as it was live on Sky Sports.

“I loved the experience and learnt a lot. It motivated me to continue to work hard on earning more court time.”

Director of Netball Mikki Austin, believes the young player will develop even more in the 2019 season.

“Last season was Emily’s first in the Superleague. She was given her first taste of Superleague action, and she relished every opportunity she got.

“Her speed is second to none and hopefully her confidence will grow the more court time she gets.”
