Surrey Storm is delighted to announce the re-signing of Katy Holland for the 2019 Vitality Netball Superleague season.
Having joined Storm at the start of the 2011 Superleague season, Holland is one of the top all-time appearance makers in duck egg blue and was a vital member of the back-to-back title winning campaigns of 2015 and 2016.
Holland was named Storm captain for the 2018 season and spoke of the challenges she faced.
“I tried to support and encourage players to always give their best performance whilst not letting the responsibility affect my own.”
The defender joins Mikki Austin and Sigi Burger as the first Storm players signed for the 2019 season.
Director of Netball Austin said; “It’s brilliant to have Katy Holland back in our line-up.
“She’s been a stalwart of Surrey Storm over a number of years. It’s brilliant for the fans and for us to have that experience in the mix.”
Holland spoke of her faith she has in Storm to come back stronger than before.
“I know that the team will be ready for the new season with its new challenges, and I’m confident we can build on last season’s performance.
“As a team we need to recognise the continued outstanding support from the fans and really give them something even more to cheer about!
“As a player I need to lead well, build confidence and help develop the new Storm whilst working with players and coaches in our drive to be successful.”
