Irish International Emma Magee returns for 2nd season with Storm

Surrey Storm are delighted to announce the signing of Northern Ireland Goal Attacker Emma Magee for the 2022 Superleague season!

In her first season with Storm the 23-year-old put in some spectacular performances across the season displaying her international experience alongside Northern Ireland team mate Niamh Cooper.

Magee picked up an injury towards the end of the season but is now back and has been putting in the work this off season to return in top form.

The Goal attacker caught the eye of Mikki Austin back in 2019 during her International performances. Emma will be joining recent signings Frankie Wells and Yasmin Parsons to add to the many attacking options for the upcoming VNSL season.

Delighted to have signed, Emma said: “I am so excited and absolutely honored to play for Storm again this year. It is another massive opportunity I just can’t wait to get started.

“Unfortunately there were quite a few minor injuries last season. This summer there has been a big focus on getting strong and fit again, ready for a tough preseason.

Joining Niamh Cooper in the Common Wealth games next year the VNSL gives opportunity to play against some top tier competition. “Playing Superleague this season will be priceless.

“The exposure of the physicality, intensity and competitiveness week in and week out will be such good preparation for the Commonwealth Games.”

Mikki Austin commented, “really looking forward to having Emma Magee back resigned with Surrey Storm.

“Emma is such a dynamic goal attack, she gives us such a threat within that shooting circle and after she had a season that was interrupted  by injury last year we are really looking forward to her getting going in the 2022 season.”

Welcome back Emma!
