The Surrey Storm girls are enjoying a well-earned break in the sun this weekend as they hit the La Manga Netball 7s tournament in Spain to join teams from all over the country at the world famous resort.
La Manga Netball 7s ambassador Georgia Lees will be keeping us updated across the weekend with her exclusive blog, giving you behind the scenes access to the tournament and how the girls are celebrating being Netball Superleague champions!

So it’s finally here, time to head off to La Manga with Surrey Storm for a few days of sun, sand and, most importantly, netball!
After [Katy] Harris and I met Amy [Flanagan] at the airport, we took on the security checks, where Amy and I apparently had too many liquids in our bags…the weekend could only get better from there! After we were all clear to go, we met the rest of the team to feed our bellies before making the most of duty free – where I was in my element when I saw the MAC store!!

We were a bit uncertain if we were actually going to make it to La Manga as we didn’t have a gate number until 10 minutes before our flight. But despite the hour delay the girls were all still in high spirits, ready for what looks to be a great few days!

The rest of the plane journey was a bit of a blur for me as I slept the whole way. Once we touched down in Alicante we then got our short transfer to La Manga where we’re staying in the Las Lomas Apartments. We got to our accommodation about 2am and everyone was amazed with how lovely the apartments were. So much space! Josie [Huckle] and Amy shot gunned the 2 single beds which left Harris and I to share the double!
After a long journey here, we unpacked our cases and were all ready to hit the sack in preparation for an early start on our tanning!
