Mikki previews London Pulse clash!

Storm are stepping up their preparations to face local rivals London Pulse on Monday evening following their latest two-week break.

Mikki Austin’s side were handed a bye last weekend following their double-header against Strathclyde Sirens and Manchester Thunder in Wakefield.

The Vitality Netball Superleague has now moved its central venue to the CopperBox Arena in London, and Storm will head there for the first time this season to face Pulse on Monday (7:15pm).

Mikki said the prolonged break has given Storm the time to work on their game ahead of a congested fixture run featuring three matches in six days.

“We’ve spent time going back to the drawing board in training,” she said.

“We’ve been executing our basics and we’re really trying to solidify and cement some connections. The girls have worked incredibly hard behind the scenes so we’re chomping at the bit to get back into the second half of the season.”

Mikki predicted Storm’s clash with Pulse will be an exciting watch on Monday evening, and fans are able to watch the game on the Sky Sports YouTube channel.

“We know it’s always a cracker of a game against Pulse as we’re quite similar in terms of the style of play that we play and put out against each other.

“No doubt it will be another game that goes right down to the wire and Pulse will obviously be looking for a bit of redemption.”

This comes after Storm defeated Pulse 40-42 in the opening weekend of the season back in February, and Mikki said it’s important her side start picking up more points this week.

“We’re heading into a week-long block of games against teams who are around us in the table so it’s vital we start picking up points against teams and making sure we have a bit more consistency in our performances.

“We’re in this league to compete and we’re not here to just make up the numbers and we know that on our day we can absolutely upset anybody.”
