Yorkshire Jets vs Surrey Storm
2015 Netball Superleague- Round 10
Friday 20th March 2015, 8pm
Headingley Campus, Leeds Beckett University
It will be a 2nd vs 3rd battle in Yorkshire to open the round and both sides will see the fixture as an opportunity to step towards a home semi-final draw.
Storm overcame a tricky opening quarter against Team Bath at Surrey Sports Park on Tuesday night, as new signing Bongiwe Msomi picked up the Player of the Match award on her first start for Surrey.
The match gave Coach Greenway another chance to rotate her squad- a luxury not experienced in the few rounds previous due to a number of more challenging games for the 2014 runners-up.
“It was great to get my first start for Surrey Storm,” said Msomi. “I have been waiting months to get the green light to come over and play so to finally arrive and get game time was amazing.
“I’ve only been here a week but I have been made to feel very welcome by everyone and I already feel settled in the squad.”
Jets come into the match in fine form. 6 straight wins saw them overtake Hertfordshire Mavericks to take a deserved 3rd place in the table, with only losses to Storm and Manchester Thunder keeping them off the top.
League top scorer Lottysha Cato has proved to be one of the season’s key transfers, and her 417 goals have propelled Jets into the play-off mix.
“This will be my first away trip in the Superleague and I am excited to see what it brings. I have had time to watch videos of Jets play and get involved in a training session so I feel a lot better prepared.
“Both teams will want to win this one. We have the same points and the same table position to play for.
