Preview: Storm look for bounce back at home

Surrey Storm Netball will host Team Northumbria at Surrey Sports Park on Friday evening (7.30pm centre-pass) as they look to bounce back from a disappointing round 1 defeat last weekend.

The Opposition

Based at the £30m Sport Central in Newcastle, Team Northumbria are part of an impressive set up of sport at Northumbria University covering national sport at various levels.

The north-east outfit will be looking to progress on previous Superleague finishes this season, bringing in players from across the globe including Jamaican internationals Nicole Dixon and Shanice Beckford.

The Ones to Watch

Leah Kennedy returns for a 7th season with Northumbria, and join Sunshine Girls Dixon and Beckford as their key players in Te Aroha Keenan’s fresh-look squad this season.

The Squad

Head Coach Kathryn Ratnapala will have a full squad to choose from for Saturday’s game and will be looking to focus on the performance of the first 3 quarters of the game against Team Bath last weekend.

Don’t forget that the Storm NPL squad will also be in action on Friday, as they open their 2016 season at home to Team South (5pm centre-pass). Entry to that game is FREE and no tickets are required.
