Shooter Harris returns to Storm

Surrey Storm Netball can confirm that shooter Katie Harris will return to the club for the 2017 Vitality Netball Superleague season.

Harris sat out of the squad for the 2016 season to allow her time to focus on her undergraduate degree at the University of Surrey, where her sports scholarship allows her to also play for Team Surrey in the British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) leagues.

Before Katie’s break from the professional game, she played a regular part in the 2014 runner-up campaign and featured off the bench on numerous occasions to provide a reliable back-up for the experienced Storm attack.

Harris continued to train alongside the full-time players during the 2016 season and will be looking to continue where she left off when Storm host Severn Stars at Surrey Sports Park in February.

After completing her re-signing, Harris said: "I'm thrilled to be re-signing for Storm this season. There have been lots of changes, making way for new opportunities and new challenges but I can't wait to take on the 2017 season with the new look Storm team and the support from all the committed Storm fans."

Katie joins Mikki Austin, Georgia Lees, Katy Holland, Yasmin Parsons, Naida Hutchinson and Rhea Dixon in the squad so far.

Season tickets for the 2017 Vitality Netball Superleague season are on sale now, following last week’s announcement of the full fixture schedule and the return of Netball London Live.
