Surrey Storm are thrilled to announce the signing of Alima Priest for the upcoming 2022 Superleague campaign.
A product from the Storm NPL squads Alima had an outbreak season last year as Storms starting Goal Keeper and proving herself against some of the leagues top attackers.
The 26 year old only made her Superleague debut back in January 2019 but since then has grown strength to strength making a big impression on Head Coach Mikki Austin.
Last season Alima had some outstanding performances. Awarded with a Player of the Match against one of the leagues top Goal Shooters Mary Cholhok in a battle against Loughborough Lightening.
Looking forward to returning Alima commented: “I’m super excited to re-sign with Storm for the upcoming season.
“I feel privileged to once again be part of a great group of athletes, coaches and wider team. I can’t wait to get out on court with the girls, work hard and play the game we love.”
At the end of last season Alima picked up a stress fracture in her foot and missed the last few games. Feeling confident on her return she added “I’ve managed to take some time to rest and recover over the off-season.
“It’s been great to be able to work with Storm S&C and Physio teams and I’m looking forward to getting back into team training over pre-season, ready for the season!
“This season I’m looking to continue to grow as a player. To learn new skills and finesse elements of my game.
“As well as wanting to improve as an individual, I’m also looking forward to build from last season with the team as a whole. We had so many moments of great netball last season, so I’m excited to see what we can do this year!”
Delighted to bring her back Coach Mikki Austin commented: “We’re really pleased to re-sign Alima priest for another season.
“In her first season in a starting position Alima proved to be one of the league highest performers. We’re looking forward to continuing that work and having Alima back in duck egg blue”.
