Storm re-sign Zimbabwe Captain Felisitus Kwangwa for 2022 Superleague season!

Surrey Storm are delighted to announce the re-signing of Zimbabwe Captain Felisitus Kwangwa for the 2021 Superleague season!

The 26-year-old Goal Defender returns in the duck egg blue for another season with Storm. Felisitus first caught the eye of Head Coach Mikki Austin during the 2019 Netball World Cup where she walked away with three Player of the Match performances.

Last season the Zimbabwe captain showed her international experience as she filled the stat sheet with deflections and interceptions picking up a Player Of the Match against Wasps in the final game of the season.

It has been a busy off-season for Felisitus as she returns home to Zimbabwe and joins the national team which are due to travel to Namibia for African Championships and Pent Series Tournaments.

Felisitus commented “I am so happy that Zimbabwe will be back in action again.

“Since our last game back in 2019 I am now looking to use all the experience I have gained from the Vitality Superleague towards the success of our team”.

With this signing the Storms defence is looking strong as the core returns with Aussie Leah Middleton, Northern Ireland international Niamh Cooper, rising star Alima Priest and Pathway project Grace Sullivan.

Thrilled with the signing, Mikki Austin said: “We are really pleased to welcome Felisitus back to Surrey Storm.

“An athlete that really grew into her role here last season and relished being part of the VNSL environment. We look forward to welcoming Felisitus back into the fold and having her in duck egg blue.”

With only one goal this year Felisitus said: “I am so excited to be back with Storm which is an opportunity that I always appreciate.

“This season I want to be a Superleague Champion.”

Welcome back Felisitus.
