Storm To Face Mavericks At Fast5

Surrey Storm will begin their Fast5 Netball All-Stars campaign against 2018 finalists Saracens Mavericks at the Copper Box Area this Saturday.

The eight-team, five-a-side tournament, which begins at 1pm, features a series of 12-minute matches, with two wins guaranteeing a semi-final place – but two defeats bringing immediate elimination.

Scoring shots are worth one within the inner circle, three from in the ‘double trouble’ outer circle, and five for the trademark All-Stars long bomb! Both teams are allowed one two-minute power play – to be taken in the first ten minutes of the game – with all points doubled during that period.

If scores are level at the end of normal time, overtime will be played with the first goal scored being the winner.

Fast5 positions are Goal Keeper, Goal Defence, Centre, Goal Attack and Goal Shooter. Rolling substitutions are permitted from inside the designated zone, with a 30-second Sin Bin in operation for dangerous play or a second warning for any one player.

Teams winning one and losing one of their opening matches will progress to a Play-Off for a semi-final place.
