Surrey Storm suffered another defeat in VNSL action as they were beaten 45-33 by Sirens.
Storm returned to action after a two week break as they host Strathclyde Sirens in Wakefield.
The opening few minutes were littered with turnovers for both sides as they each tried to take control of the first few minutes of action.
Sirens took an early two-goal lead which they maintained for the duration of the opening quarter.
Storm struggled to get the ball through the goal as they struggled to find Karyn Bailey in the shooters circle.
Sirens held a 12-9 lead at the end of the opening period.
Strathclyde took control of the contest in the second quarter as they out-scored Storm 9-2 in the opening six minutes of the period.
Despite Storm narrowing the deficit to just five goals, Sirens ended the quarter on a high note and led 23-16 at the half-time interval.
Mikki Austin made some tactical changes at the break as she substituted herself out of the game, and she was replaced by Storm Vice-Captain Emily Gulvin.
Sirens started the third quarter of the game strongly as they extended their lead to 13 goals.
Storm trailed 24-35 heading into the final quarter of the game.
Things went from bad to worse for Storm as Niamh Cooper sustained an injury and was forced off the court.
Sirens were able to cruise their way to victory in the final stages as they one the contest 45-33 in Wakefield.
Storm are back in action tomorrow as they take on Manchester Thunder.
