Young Guns hit Worcester for U21 Showdown

Surrey Storm’s future stars are heading to the Worcester Arena this weekend for the U21 September Showdown.

The brand new event will showcase the best of the country’s young netball talent, with youth teams from Hertfordshire Mavericks, Loughborough Lightning, Manchester Thunder, Team Bath, Team Northumbria, University of Worcester and West Midlands Warriors joining Storm at the tournament.

Following a successful 2015/16 NPL season, narrowly finishing second to Thunder, and with a chance to take a spot in the senior side this year the Storm players will each have a point to prove ahead of the arrival of our new Director of Netball Tania Hoffman.

The travelling squad features a long list of exciting local talent, including Rhea Dixon, Emily Gulvin and Frankie Seber, all of whom also study at the University of Surrey under the High Performance Athlete Support Scheme (HPASS).

The action kicks off on today, with tickets being sold for Sunday’s final day of play. Click here for more information and to buy online now.

We will also have match updates throughout the event on the Surrey Storm NPL Twitter page.
