Anya Wood steps up to NSL

Surrey Storm are delighted to offer Anya Wood a contract position in the NSL team for the 2024 season.

Wood is a former Storm youth player and went on to play for Loughborough Lightning. Last season she played for the Downs in the NPL.

Originally from High Wycombe, Wood was first called up to the National Academy in 2016 and went on to be a part of the England U19s and U21 squads, and feature in events such as Netball Europe and an U19 tour of New Zealand in 2017.

After taking a break from the Superleague for a few years I’m super excited to be back where it all started at Surrey Storm!

Anya Wood

We are proud to offer Anya a contract position for 2024. As a previous Surrey Storm youth player, Anya has shown great promise throughout her years competing in NPL alongside the Downs in the Premier League. It’s been a privilege to see the growth she has made as a young athlete within our pathway, and now giving her an opportunity to step up into NSL. Anya is a prime example of what we are trying to achieve here at Surrey Storm.
