Bartercard Surrey Storm is thrilled to announce Goal Attack Frankie Wells and Wing Attack Sophia Candappa has returned to Storm for the 2023 Superleague season.
A product of Storm pathway Frankie has continued to develop seeing the sharpshooter step into the starting 7 last season, alongside Proscovia Peace in the shooting circle Wells netted herself 177 goals.
Teaming up with Wells, Sophia Candappa joins the Storm attacking force for another season.
Returning to full fitness after giving birth to her second child Candappa displayed the true strength of a super mum. Candappa was an injection into the side every time she stepped on court with her game smarts, unbelievable feeds, and composure in crunch time.
With experience of winning titles Candappa knows what it takes to succeed. She believes this Storm squad has got what it takes commenting: ““I absolutely loved returning to the Surrey Storm family last season, I am thrilled to be back for 2023!
It’s going to be a mega year and I can’t wait to be back at SSP in front of our incredible fans ready to take on the league!”.

She played a big part last season in the goal attack position; she offers us a double threat being a really strong shooter option for us. We are looking forward to working with Frankie and continuing to develop her game.
Sophia is a role model to any netballer or athlete out there. Her determination to returning to fitness after the birth of Wren last season was inspiring to watch and she made an impact on the court when we needed it.
Sophia is a winner; champion minded and adds a great leader into our midcourt which we look forward to benefitting from in 2023.
