Surrey Storm shooter Sigi Burger has received a late call-up to the SPAR Proteas South Africa Netball squad ahead of the start of the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games this week.
Burger replaces Waikato Magic player Lenize Potgieter, who has been forced to withdraw from the squad with an ankle injury, and will fly out to Australia later today to begin tournament preparations.
Burger joins former Storm player Bongiwe Msomi in the South African squad, which kicks off its Games appearance on Friday morning (6am UK time) with a Pool A clash against Jamaica.
