In Georgia’s final La Manga Netball Sevens blog, we find out which teams were crowned champions and how they celebrated a fantastic weekend of netball in the sun!
Saturday 6th June
So today marks the end of the La Manga Netball Sevens tournament. After a full day of matches yesterday the teams were split into a cup league and plate league, depending where they placed the previous day. There were 8 teams in the cup and each team had a Storm player to play or coach in their team!

All the games were really close in the league round, with all of my teams game winning or losing by just 1! Then after the league round we had a 2 hour lunch break where hot food was provided- perfect to refuel.
After lunch we had the knock out stages…unfortunately my team lost in the quarter finals. Which left a Jet Netters and Super Sisters final, where Jet Netters took home the win and a nice cash prize too!
After a very long day of playing we then headed back to our hotel for get ready for the gala dinner at 8pm. The event that La Manga put on was amazing! I felt like I was going to a wedding with all the nice tables and decorations!
At the dinner each team that competed in the plate had a Storm player on their table as they didn’t get the opportunity to play with us during the day, so it was quite nice for us to be able to meet all the teams. After a lovely buffet dinner we then presented the winners and runners up with their trophies and prizes.

Then it was time for the Q&A session where all the teams had the chance to ask us questions – netball or non-netball related! The event lasted until about 1am and after that teams headed into town to continue celebrating what has been a great 4 days!
See you all next year…?
