Match Day Media Volunteers Required

The two times Superleague champions are looking for volunteers to assist with our match day media coverage!

Do you love social media and, most importantly, playing and watching netball?

Are you a keen writer?

Do you want to watch every Surrey Storm match for free?

If you answered YES to the above then keep reading!

We pride ourselves on having the best social media channels in the league (and the most followers) and have been commended by other clubs for the level of coverage we give fans who cannot attend games.

We want to go bigger and better this year, but to do that we need help!

As well as covering our home games at Surrey Sports Park (and Netball London Live at the Copper Box Arena) we will also be extending our coverage to away games this season so we would need you to be flexible across weekends between now and the start of July (but don’t worry – we are flexible too and if you cannot attend the odd game we won’t be angry!) and also be confident working independently.. All travel will be on the official team coach too.

Post-match you will be conducting interviews with players and rounding up the action with reports on our website.
No previous experience in media or marketing is required, but we would like you to at least be studying on a related course or have a keen interest in journalism. We will give you full training on how we like to do things at Surrey Storm – all you need to do is bring your passion for the sport! Scroll down for a full list of tasks that you will be involved in.

In return you will get reasonable travel expenses covered, the chance to hang out with the players and coaches and an opportunity to get some great work experience under your belt and on your CV.

Please note that the role is voluntary and will consist of between 5-12 hours a week during the season, mainly on Saturdays and Mondays. There will be opportunities to get involved in other media and marketing tasks throughout the season too.

If you would like to be considered for this role (there is more than one position available) please send an up to date CV and a short note about why you think you would be a good candidate to media@surreystormnetball.co.uk. Applications close on Wednesday 28 February 2018. Applicants must be at least 18 years old.

The 2018 season is well underway so we are looking for volunteers who can work with us immediately. Interviews are not being held but we would love to meet you for a coffee if you are interested.
