Match Preview: Manchester Thunder vs Surrey Storm

Surrey Storm return to Vitality Netball Superleague action after the mid-season break as they travel to the Belle Vue Sports Village on Saturday to take on Manchester Thunder.

Storm will be looking to complete back-to-back wins either side of the Commonwealth Games break, after a 64-47 win over Team Northumbria last time out.

South Africa’s Gold Coast star Sigi Burger has returned to the UK after finishing with a 94.7% shooting rate down under and will be in contention to start. Centre Mikki Austin is also back in training, after missing all of the Superleague season so far with a knee-injury that was suffered in pre-season.

Thunder have made a strong start to the Superleague season, picking up five wins and have just one defeat all season, which saw a second-half comeback from benecosMavericks to take the win in March.

Thunder have Commonwealth Games pedigree of their own with shooter Joyce Mvula being part of the Malawi side who recorded a famous victory over New Zealand on the Gold Coast. Former Storm player Sophie Morgan is also set to turn out for the former Superleague champions.
