The NSL Select squad has been confirmed to face Tracey Neville’s England side in the final ‘England on the Road’ series match at Surrey Sports Park on Monday 13 July, before the team head to Sydney for the 2015 Netball World Cup.
Surrey Storm fans will see some familiar faces on court, with five of the 2015 Superleague winning squad announced as part of a 12-strong NSL Select Squad, and Storm star attacking trio of Pamela Cookey, Rachel Dunn and Tamsin Greenway all featuring for the Roses.
Storm captain Hannah Reid and teammates Kat Ainsworth, Georgia Lees, Becky Gentle and Laurelle Borck will go head-to-head against Cookey, Dunn and Greenway in front of a sell-out Surrey Sports Park crowd.
The Storm girls will join England World Cup reserves Sasha Corbin, Kadeen Corbin, Natalie Haythornwaite and Ama Agbeze, along with Rosie Allison, Sophie Candappa and ex-Storm attacker Amanda Davis.
The friendly match will also see the return to Surrey Sports Park for former Storm stars Sonia Mkoloma, who was recalled to the national side by Neville, and new England captain Geva Mentor.
Since Tracey Neville finalised her final World Cup twelve, the squad have been in training camps and playing a series of friendly matches across the country on the road to Sydney.
England beat Scotland 67-16 in Newcastle before defeating Wales 65-31 in Merthyr. England will travel to Huddersfield on Saturday to face an England Select before Monday’s match in Guildford against the NSL Select. First centre pass at Surrey Sports Park is 7.00pm, with all tickets sold.
England start their World Cup campaign against Scotland on Friday 7 August, 5.50am BST, before facing fellow Pool B teams Jamaica on Saturday 8 August, 8.20am BST and Samoa on Sunday 9 August, 7.20am BST. All England World Cup matches will be shown live on Sky Sports.
