Coach Tamsin Greenway whittled down her long squad earlier this week, with one final decision to be made on a potential international player signing over the festive period.

Storm fans will take delight in being able to watch Pamela Cookey in a Storm dress once again this weekend as she makes her long awaited return back to netball following an achillies injury sustained earlier this year.

Cookey will face her old team mates Team Bath in the opening match of the tournament (3pm), before the West Country side take on Hertfordshire Mavericks at 4.15pm. Storm and Mavericks will finish off proceedings with the Netball London Live foes hitting the court at 5.30pm.

After missing the end of the 2014 Superleague season and the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, England captain Cookey is excited to be back on court tomorrow: “The wait has been long and torturous. I love playing netball and to be side-lined for so long was frustrating.

“Obviously I was upset to miss out on the Commonwealth Games, but I was so proud with how England performed even if we didn’t quite achieve what we set out to do.

“My recovery has been really positive though and I can’t wait to get back on court this Saturday, and to get back in a Storm dress.”

Coach Greenway, who confirmed Cookey’s signing in October, has full confidence in her squad ahead of Saturday’s tournament: “There are a lot of new faces in there and we will take time to gel. The game against Wales last month was tough but I was happy with the performance if not the rest.

“Tomorrow will be different as we have had more time to train and the players have worked hard together as a long squad. The test will be different too though, and I know that both Bath and Mavericks will be looking to put their players through it before the coaches announce their final rosters.”

With Cookey returning to fitness in time for the meeting, only new signing Mikki Austin will be absent from the squad while she continues her recovery from injury.

Tickets for the tournament are SOLD OUT but there will be live updates from all three fixtures on Facebook and Twitter.
