Ratnapala leaves Storm

Surrey Storm can confirm that Head Coach Kathryn Ratanapala has left the club.

Kathryn spent just one season at Storm in the role, helping Surrey to secure back-to-back league titles under her leadership.

Ratnapala arrived earlier this year to take the reigns following on from a successful playing career with Team Bath and England, as well as coaching Hertfordshire Mavericks in the Superleague.

Following the announcement, Kathryn said: “I’d like to thank Storm coaches, players and fans for all their support last season.  It was an incredible year and one that I learnt a great deal from.”

Coach Ratnapala will return to Mavericks to take the role of Assistant Coach. Everyone at Surrey Storm wished her the best with her future career.

Franchise Director Gavin Baker will now begin recruitment for a new Head Coach alongside our Director of Netball, who is expected to the confirmed in the coming weeks.
