Report: Storm see off Jets to stay second

Surrey Storm saw off a resilient Yorkshire Jets on the road, 56-69, to stay second in the Netball Superleague.

A determined Storm side ran out winners across all four quarters in a tightly-fought contest between the Superleague's second and third placed teams in front of a sell-out crowd of 650 at Leeds Carnegie.

A tense first quarter saw both teams exchanging blows, goal for goal before Storm's attack end broke the deadlock to pull away by 3, 15-18.

The second was another 15-18 quarter, with Storm extending their lead to 10 at one stage, before being pegged back by the home side to 30-36.

In a similar pattern to the first two quarters, Storm took the third by 3 to look in control going into the final fifteen, 46-55 up.

Yet Jets came out fighting in Q4 to pull the game back within 2 points, before Greenway's girls regained control and cruised the final stages to take the fourth by 4 and run out 56-69 winners.

The win sees Storm move 3 points ahead of Jets to second with 24 points, 3 points behind league leaders Manchester Thunder.

Next up for Storm is a trip to the Sport Wales National Centre to face 7th placed Celtic Dragons on Saturday 28 March, with an early start of 4pm.
