Storm Academy & NPL 2019-20 Trials

Surrey Storm are holding trials for our 2019-20 Academy, Under 19 and Under 21 NPL squads at Surrey Sports Park in September.

Under 21 trials, for players born in 1999 or later, are on Tuesday 10 September, with Under 19 trials, for players born in 2001 or later, on Thursday 12 September. Both trials run from 8-10pm. Previous experience of playing at NPL, Prem or regional level is desired.

Academy trials, for players aged 14 – 17, will be held on Sunday 8 September at a time to be specified.

Completed application form should be returned to Becky Harrison-Smith via r.harrison-smith@surrey.ac.uk by Thursday 1 August. Successful applicants will be notified by return of email.

All participants will be charged a £5 trials fee, to be paid on the day, and are reminded to bring plenty of drinking water and any other refreshments they may require with them.

Applicants may be asked to attend further trials or to join a long-list of players before the final squad is confirmed.

UNDER 19 / UNDER 21:

Both squads train at Wellington College in Crowthorne on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, from 8-10pm.

A membership fee of £400 will be charged to cover travel to fixtures, training and booking costs, and training kit. The fee can be paid in two instalments, with kit being distributed once full payment has been received.

ACADEMY:

The Storm Academy will be based at five locations across the region:

North: Eagle House School, Sandhurst (Thursday 8-10pm)

South: Hurtstpeirpoint College, Sussex (Monday 7.15pm-9.15pm)

East: Barking Abbey School, Barking, Essex (Monday 7-9pm)

West: Andover Leisure Centre (Monday 7-9pm)

Central: Reed’s School, Cobham (Thursday 7.30-9.30pm)
