Storm NPL kick off season with home clash

Surrey Storm’s U19s NPL side will get their season underway this Saturday with a home clash against brand new team London Pulse at Surrey Sports Park (2.30pm centre-pass).

Coached by Terry Tilbury, Tallisa Haynes and Danni Mugridge, the side will be looking to go one better on last season’s second place finish in a year which saw a winner takes all battle between Storm and eventual champions Manchester Thunder take place at the Sports Park in front of a crowd of nearly 500 netball fans!

With numerous former Storm NPL players now plying their trade in the Vitality Netball Superleague, including Georgia Lees, Katy Holland and England U21 shooter Rhea Dixon, there is sure to be some exciting talent worth keeping an eye on during the season!

Season Opener

Fans can get their first taste of netball action in 2017 on Saturday by getting down to the Sports Park to watch Storm NPL host London Pulse. The match gets underway at 2.30pm and no tickets are required for the game, which is FREE to watch.

New Format

The revamped Netball Performance League consists of 10 teams of players aged under 19. The 10 teams consist of the 8 English teams and 2 additional invited teams, for 2017 these will be London Pulse and Yorkshire Youth.

These players are in the athlete pathway for progression to possibly become future stars of the Vitality Netball Superleague.

This year’s competition will be made up of two stages; Stage One will be a single round robin competition with teams spilt into two groups (North & South) and Stage Two comprises Cross Sectional Playoffs.
