Storm raise over £1,500 for Australian Red Cross

Storm are delighted to announce we have raised over £1,500 for the Australian Red Cross – so they can continue their life-saving work during the ongoing Australian bush fires.

It has been heart-breaking to see the scenes from Australia, and with two Aussies on our team, Karyn Bailey and Leah Middleton, it gave us an extra incentive to do something to help.

We had donation buckets at Sunday’s clash with Wasps, which raised over £600.

We also auctioned two signed Storm dresses for £200 each.

Combining this with your generous Just Giving donations, we have raised over £1,500.

Thank you for your incredible support for a very worthy cause.

Mikki Austin said: “I’d like to personally thank each and every person who has got behind our fundraising over the past couple of weeks, and specifically the donations made by fans during our pre-season friendly on Sunday.

“The generosity of you guys has been overwhelming which has enabled us to raise a huge sum of money for those continuing to put their lives at risk on a daily basis.

“From everyone here at Surrey Storm – THANK YOU!”
