Storm return for Lorraine

Surrey Storm is thrilled to announce the re-signing of defender Lorraine Kowalewska (nee Betsy).

Storm fans will remember Lorraine as she has previously played for the club, although at the time she was known as Lorraine Betsy.  Her last game came in 2014 against the Welsh Dragons in a pre-season friendly.

Kowalewska has had a distinguished career, not only playing for Storm but also the Celtic Dragons. Alongside this, she has also been involved with the ‘Sisters N Sport’ programme, which demonstrations her eagerness not only to play Netball but also get involved with all levels of sport.

After taking a year out to raise her new-born baby, she is back and raring to go.

Speaking on her return to Storm, Lorraine said “It's really nice to be back playing netball again after some time off last year. I'm even more thrilled to be back at Surrey Storm.

“After having a baby, I couldn't wait to get fit again, so I was quickly back to training. It has been tough, but I now have a real passion for it. I'm so happy to have been selected and feel privileged to be a part of such an amazing squad with a mix of experience and youth.  I'm looking forward to working with the players and coaches and being a part of what's going to be an epic Superleague season.”

Lorraine’s signing leaves just one spot open in the Surrey Storm squad for the 2017 Vitality Netball Superleague season, and we have our fingers crossed to share some more exciting news with fans in the coming weeks!
