Three Surrey Storm players will travel to the 2015 Netball World Cup this summer, as interim Head Coach Tracey Neville names her England squad to head down under.
Tamsin Greenway, Rachel Dunn and Pamela Cookey all made the cut following weeks of preparations within the long squad and will hit Sydney for the World Cup, which kicks off on August 7th.
Cookey will also take the role of vice-captain, with former Storm star Geva Mentor being rewarded with the armband to lead England’s charge towards world glory.
All three players featured at the 2011 World Cup in Singapore, which saw England take bronze following a 70-49 win over Jamaica.
With big ambitions and a hugely talented squad under her wing, Coach Neville will be looking for her side to advance on their 2011 finish.
Reflecting on the selection, she said: "The training response from this group of athletes over the last few weeks has been somewhat incredible and has definitely made this selection task very difficult.
“The coaches feel that the selected squad has the experience, talent, consistency and determination to fulfil the rigorous schedule of the World Cup and put the performance out on court that is worthy of an England team."
