Surrey Storm are partnering with London Giants Netball for the 2022 season.
Surrey Storm are very excited to announce the training partnership with Giants Netball. Giants Netball are a London based men’s and mixed netball team competing in the England men’s & mixed netball association (EMMNA) national league.
The men’s netball game is growing rapidly with the EMMNA being formed to offer men an opportunity to play netball at national and international level, and to further grow and develop men’s and mixed netball.
The training partnership will see Storm play games against the Giants behind closed doors throughout the season in preparation for upcoming opponents for both sides.
Head Coach Mikki Austin commented: ” We are incredibly excited to announce this training opposition partnership with London Giants. The development of both the mixed and mens game in recent years has been huge and we quickly recognised this is something we want to be a part of.
Teaming up with the recently crowned champions of EMMNA national finals seemed like a no brainer. We are looking forward to inviting Giants into our environment to compete against their strength and skill. We feel this is going to add value to our preparation for VNSL.”.
Giants Netball Co- President Ryan Allen said: “London Giants Men’s & Mixed Netball are incredibly excited about our official training partnership with Surrey Storm.
We cannot wait to get both our men’s and mixed National Champion teams on court at Surrey Sports Park and to push each other to develop and strengthen in preparation for our respective seasons.
We are grateful to Storm and Mikki for giving elite level men’s and mixed netball this opportunity, and for the exposure that we hope will inspire more players to get involved with netball.”
