London and South East Performance Pathway Coach Lesley Tischler will take charge of Surrey Storm’s Next Generation Superleague squad starting with tomorrow’s opening matches at Surrey Sports Park.
Tischler has worked closely with a number of young netball players since joining the L&SE Pathway in 2014, including Rhea Dixon, Olivia Leach and Fran Williams who all feature in the Storm squad taking on Hertfordshire Mavericks and Loughborough Lightning on Saturday.
Head Coach of Poly Netball Club, who have reached the National Premier Play-offs two season in a row, Lesley also took the England Senior Maccabi Netball squad to a bronze medal and won the Goalden Globes Grassroots Coach of the Year Award in the same year during 2014.
Upon signing as Head Coach, Tischler said: “I’m really excited about working with the talented bunch of the Next Generation Storm Stars. I hope to learn as much from them as they do from me.
“Tamsin Greenway is one of the top coaches in the country and it was a no brainer to have the chance to work alongside her and learn from the best.
“It’s going to be a fantastic competition, where the players will be able to showcase their skills and develop their tactical abilities. I’m here to get the best out of them as well as myself, so we can challenge for that top spot.”
Storm will host Mavericks and Lightning at Surrey Sports Park in the 1st round of the inaugural Next Generation Superleague tournament tomorrow, with Manchester Thunder, Team Northumbria and Yorkshire Jets also facing one and other before all 6 teams meet at one venue later this month.
