Yazz Parsons To Captain Roses At Netball Europe Open

Surrey Storm’s Yasmin Parsons will Captain the Vitality Roses at Netball Europe Open in Belfast later this month.

Parsons will share the Captaincy duties with Iona Darroch for the tournament which runs from 27 – 29 September and will also feature Northern Ireland, Wales and the Republic of Ireland.

The full Roses squad is as follows: Halimat Adio, Rebecca Airey, Iona Darroch, Zara Everitt, Funmi Fadoju, Ally Housely, Berri Neil, Jasmin Odeogberin, Yasmin Parsons, Emilia Roscoe, Kira Rothwell, Sienna Rushton.

The squad will be led by England Netball Futures Head Coach Sam Bird, alongside Emily Perry as Assistant Coach.

Sam commented: “Emily and I are delighted to be heading to the Netball Europe Open for what I’m sure is set to be an exciting few days of netball with these fantastic athletes. Last year, England came home champions and we are keen to return with that title once again. We have a great mix of talent within this 12-strong squad and I’m looking forward to seeing how we stand against these other teams.”

England will play the following fixtures:

Friday 27 September, 1.30pm: v Republic of Ireland

Saturday 28 September, 11.30am: v Wales

Sunday 29 September, 11.30am: v Northern Ireland
