England clinch U21 Netball Europe Title

England were crowned 2015 Netball Europe U21 Champions following a dramatic final day victory over Wales at the Aberdeen Sports Village on Sunday.

Both nations headed into the gold medal play-off match having secured wins from their previous two fixtures. The young Roses were pushed all the way but managed to pull clear in the closing stages to seal a 63-56 success.

The victory came after securing wins over Northern Ireland and Scotland earlier in the tournament, allowing England the chance to lift the title in Sunday’s decider.

Storm NPL players Rhea Dixon, Alana John and Olivia Leach featured in the squad, with Dixon taking her place in the starting 7 for the final.

Vice-captain Francesca Williams will join up with Dixon, John and Leach for this Saturday’s Next Generation Superleague tournament at Surrey Sports Park, which will see some of the country’s top upcoming talents hit the court in the first leg of the competition.
